In this study, the flotation behavior of fluorite and barite was studied using sodium petroleum sulfonate (SPS) as a collector with sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) as a depressant. The performance of reagents on minerals was interpreted by infrared spectroscopic analysis and zeta potential measurement.
In order to improve the flotation separation efficiency of bastnaesite from barite and calcite, a novel collector, octylamino-bis-(butanohydroxamic acid) (OBHA), with large molecular structure and two functional groups was synthesized based on the molecular design of flotation reagents theory.OBHA was adopted as collector in both single, mixed …

The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively review and summarize the rare earth processing routes, the mostly employed rare earth separation methods, supply and demand of rare earth around the...
The refractory Calico ore samples are not very amenable to the recovery of silver by the cyanide process despite grinding to 80 percent minus 10 microns. Salt roasting followed by cyanidation was investigated as a means of improving the silver recovery. The residues from cyanidation were treated by flotation to recover the contained barite ...

Froth flotation is the most widely used industrial process for the separation of finely liberated minerals. The process involves the aeration of minerals in water in the presence of flotation reagents which facilitate the attachment of …
Barite flotation is performed at pH 11. Zeng ( 1993) has done extensive investigation of flotation of the WS rare earth ore. A modified reverse flotation process, shown in Fig. 2.2, was proposed to upgrade the rare earth from 3 to 7 % to 60 % rare earth oxide (REO) and barite from 25 to 92–95 %.
From the perspective of mineralization and geological environment, the fluorite reserves in the Pacific Rim account for more than 50% of the world's total …
Barite flotation from untreated, natural ore required only one cleaning step to make a plus 92-percent barite concentrate, whereas two cleaning steps were required to recover the barite from cyanide residues. The flotation rougher tailing and cleaner tailing from each test were mathematically combined for reporting purposes.

The Barite Beneficiation Process is one of flotation, it is used as an ingredient in "heavy mud" for oil-well drilling, for which purpose specifications demand a material meeting the drilling "mud" specifications. Fineness: 98% finished product must pass through 200 mesh. (90-95 % will pass through 325 mesh screen.)
