Lead Nitrate has long been associated with cyanidation leaching of Gold from finely ground ore. Typically it is used in 2 ways depending on the leach process being used. For "Conventional" leaching circuits where Carbon is not used, the addition o...
The addition of lead nitrate to sulfides in cyanide solution can create a synergetic effect which results in an increase in dissolution rates of gold in cyanide solutions and this is accompanied ...
Metallic sulfide minerals present in most gold ores, Morila gold ore included, often decompose under typical gold leaching conditions. The reactions and their products consume oxygen and sodium cyanide, consequently competing for oxygen and cyanide used in gold dissolution. The resultant effect is to reduce both the kinetics of gold dissolution and overall extraction efficiencies.
How to effectively identify overdosing of lead nitrate [Pb(NO3)2] in gold cyanidation. I'm interested in optimizing the lead nitrate addition at a standard 4000 tpd gold mill using conventional cyanidation. We currently add -240g/t lead nitrate to try to maintain our 'reducing power' (ppm SCN/S2O3) between leach and grinding at 60ppm.

The addition of lead nitrate results in a higher gold extraction, although cyanide consumption cannot be reduced below 1.85 kg/t without a drop in the extraction. Without lead nitrate, the gold recovery is lower than 90% but with lead nitrate, it reaches 98%. The addition of oxygen increases the gold …
The effect of lead nitrate concentrations on cyanide consumption. CONCLUSIONS In this paper, the effect of lead nitrate on cyanidation of an antimonial refractory gold and silver ore was demonstrated. Results showed that lead nitrate addition had a limited effect on gold and silver extractions from antimonial refractory Akoluk ore.

also lead to the passivation of gold surface in addition to its consumption of cyanide and oxygen [1]. Pre-aeration of ore prior to cyanidation and/or addition of lead nitrate can be beneficial for mitigating problems associated with sulphide minerals during cyanidation of gold [13,14,16]. Preleaching of ore can be undertaken to remove

lead nitrate leaching copper gold silver - . An introduction to Lead Nitrate Solution - LogiChem. The benefit of lead as a leach enhancer in gold cyanidation has been recognised since the early 80s • but only from mid -90s has lead nitrate as a lead source become widely used in gold cyanidation • improves leaching kinetics & increases the quantity of gold recovered from sulphide ores.
