A new tool rest might be a poorly finished casting, or it might be a cold-bent piece of zinc plated steel flat stock, both of which would cheapen the look of the overall grinder.
Up for sale are left hand and right hand tool rests from an early model Delta Triple-Duty Bench Grinder. The model number of the grinder these came off of was a 23-105. Judging by the amount of damage the machine had when I got it, I would guess that it was dropped at some point.
Fits vintage cast iron grinders, like the Triple Duty and the 23-105 tool grinder. Does not fit later grinders that came with a sheet metal tool rest. For this tool rest, the grinder casting must have the cast slot for a 3/8" x 1¼" bar stock tool rest support, as shown in the photos. Each tool rest includes the following eleven (11) pieces:
