11-10-2020· The Harbor Freight mini mill has a tilting column, it has a single 32mm nut, T bolt and squash washer for tilting and that mounts to the base with 3 bolts, the bolts are in a almost straight line and it acts like a pivot point, I've seen someone take .5" steel plates and weld them into a L shape to mount to the base and column to it to make it more rigid but I don't have the steel or a welder.

Few years later I got Mini Mill from Harbor Freight - a variation of Sieg X2 mill. These two machines are very good when tuned well. I was able to achieve the precision of 0.001inch what is enough for my needs. When the mill arrived to my shop it was mostly assembled but I decides to take it apart, clean, lubricate and adjust the way I wanted.
17-03-2018· I picked up this knee mill on CL about a year ago. The P.O. had already installed the power feed on the X axis, a home made power draw bar and DRO. I have since refit the scales to the table for the X axis of the DRO, remounted the power feed to use the factory trough so I can insert T nuts from both sides of the table now and install a 3 phase motor with a HY VFD and Hall effect tachometer.
