A motor on rails where the rails can be flipped from horizontal to vertical. Depending on attachments, the Shopsmith is meant to perform as a lathe, drill press, table saw, sander, band saw.

They currently make a lathe/mill combo machine, the Granite line, that uses what I think are identical motors and control boards. The motor they control is a 90V DC 1.5 HP motor and the control board looks identical to my Fox Supershop board.

I spent some time Googling and can only find info on a model 720 All In One machine like a Shopsmith - no standalone lathe. Nothing at OWWM either. The picture the owner has posted looks like a standalone lathe rather than a combo machine.
