They retailed for $79.00 then (crank up the time machine). The FN49 and the FAL were developed by the same designer, Dieudonné Saive, and produced almost simultaneously.
27-09-2019· Asking 1400 OBO for my Luxembourg contract FN-49 in 30-06, it is in very good condition, and all matching except for the stock which is common and considered normal for these. The black enamel finish is in great condition with little wear. They only made 6,306 for Luxembourg so they are quite abit rarer then your standard egyptian FN-49 in 8mm and far more desirable.

Very few .30-06 FN-49 rifles from other contracts have been imported into the United States, making the Luxembourg rifles the only affordable option for an FN-49 in that caliber. This gun has the original finish on the metal. There is some wear, but all things considered, it is actually in rather good condition. All the numbers on the gun match.
