Wessels ore contained a relatively high amount of iron and calcium, low silicon and alkalis (Table 1). XRD analysis identified the following phases in the Wessels ore: bixbyite, braunite, manganite, hausmannite and calcite. Braunite was found in two modifications - with high silica and low silica [3]. The Mn/Fe weight ratio in the ore was 4.85.

The present investigation emphasized on the liberation and beneficiation characteristics of Indian chromite oreto improve the Cr: Fe ratio. The off grade chromite sample ofSukinda region, India analysed 40.8% of Cr 2 O 3 > with Cr:Fe ratio of 1.7 and 5.8% of …
Chromite is used for various purposes which can be classed as metal-lurgical, refractory and chemical. For metallurgical purposes chrome ore is first converted into ferrochrome containing 60-70 per cent chromium. Ore suitable for this purpose should have at least 48 per cent chromic oxide, with a chromium:iron ratio of not less than 3:1. Silica ...

Nov 19, 2004· Compared with the gas–solid heterogeneous reactions of chromite ore with sodium carbonate (Na 2 CO 3) and oxygen (O 2) at 1200° C, the liquid-phase oxidation of chromite ore in submolten fluid more easily and quantitatively controls the reaction and separation because the oxygen anion (O 2−) exchange in the salt medium is similar to that ...
Feb 19, 2010· The ToF-SIMS statistical analysis of the coarse (75–150 µm) chromite particles in successive concentrates and tails again clearly illustrates the selectivity of the full UG2 flotation towards chromite with attached altered Mg silicate surface layers. This is seen in the monotonic decrease in Mg and Si with corresponding increase in Cr, Fe ...
Chromite ore scenario – India India ranks third in the world in chromite production, and fifth in terms of ore reserves. The majority (98.6%) of the chromite resources in the country are hosted in the Sukinda Ultramafic Belt (SUB) and Boula-Nausahi Igneous Complex (BNIC) in Odisha State (Figure 2). These deposits are typically

Chromite was analyzed with respect to its position within or between ore bodies, including the following classifications: chromitite (schlieren ore) band, accessory chromite in intercalated serpentine within the ore bodies, disseminated chromite in non-ore bearing host rocks, and chromite within serpentinites intermediately adjacent to ore bodies.
Jan 03, 2012· chromite ore which resulted improvement of Cr. 2. O. 3. to 48% with Cr:Fe ratio of 6.2 from the feed assaying 36.84% Cr. 2. O. 3 [7]. Significant work has been reported in the literature to improve Cr:Fe ratio of the low/off grade chromite. A thorough physical, chemical, and mineralogicalcharacteriza tion must precede the beneficiation of ...
Sep 16, 2019· Chromite ore was taken from Mwe Taung, in Chin State, Myanmar. Chromite ore contains iron oxide, alumina, magnesia, lime, chromic oxide and silica. The prepared chromite has been extensively used for high temperature metallurgical reactions. The chemical analysis of chromite ore was done to know the composition.
